Dinner set Paula Rego

It might be surprising to see the iconographic themes of one of the greatest contemporary portuguese artists, applied in the daily use of porcelain sets. Adapted from cups of her own, where the cheeky monkeys and hybrid ladies who stroll through the course of this set, are inspired by the sculptural themes of the Suspension Garden from the Palácio Nacional de Queluz, and remind us the appreciation that the portuguese artist, Paula Rego, has to the portuguese tiles of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, or the  works of famous potters as the great cartoonist of the late nineteenth century, Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro.
